Doors

Before we lived in this home, I had no idea doors could be a project of their own. These particular demon doors were really old heavy wood, and they were bullet proof.

We actually found a bullet lodged in the door after we scrapped the paint away.

First we had to scrape all the white/pink/blue paint off the doors. (The people who lived here before us really liked color, which we already knew after the purple bathroom.)

They were incredibly dark under all that paint.

Then we painted.

Then we painted.

Painting should have been the easy part, except because the doors were so dark and oily, they soaked through the white paint and showed up pink. They’re all actually still a little pink. I was incredible disappointed to learn that all our time spent in the doors didn’t matter, as they looked pink after a week.

We painted the knobs a sharp black.

They looked really good before the pink bled through.
